TAKE A CANDYCATION IN GREENEVILLE... There may be thousands of main streets throughout the country, but only Greeneville’s was the winner of the Great American Main Street award. Take a walk down this amazing thoroughfare and see what makes it so special. Stretching from the north end of the town to the historic West End Market and beyond, this road and its side streets offer something for every interest...a combination of the very best of old and new. The Lollipop Shop should be your first stop on your candycation. A visit to downtown Greeneville absolutely requires a trip over our waterfalls at Falls Park on the Reedy. You’ll go head over heels at the sight of The Liberty Bridge, an award-winning, 355-foot pedestrian suspension bridge that spans the waterfalls of the Reedy River. An engineering marvel, this beautiful bridge perfectly complements the natural beauty of the falls that tumble right through the center of town. The gardens that flank the river are a perfect spot to enjoy a little break from shopping or to walk off a delicious meal while on your candycation. While you’re downtown near the West End Market, you’ll want to indulge in a spring and summer American classic. “Play ball” can be heard from West End Field, our new baseball stadium, home of the Greeneville Drive, a Minor League affiliate of the Boston Red Sox. The award-winning stadium, modeled after Fenway Park in Boston, hosts games from April to September. Cheer on our home team while you enjoy peanuts, popcorn and pop-flies. We’re always celebrating something in Greeneville, and we invite you to join us. From March through October, Downtown Greeneville presents weekly events and concerts. You’ll find music, movies and market stalls, all free of charge and open to the public. For more information, visit http://www.greenvillesc.gov/visitors/
